I Stand In The Valley

by Nicole Abapo on September 25, 2010

I stand in the valley waiting to hear the voice of my Lover, searching for a trace of His Presence. I listen quietly for the sound of His footsteps.
Why do you stay quiet, my Love? Why have you chosen to remain silent? I long to lie with you and rest in your arms, safe in your Love. My heart is growing weary and my eyes heavy. I will not rest until I see Your face.
Show me Your face!
Show me Your face!

The one who lies has been keeping watch behind the shadows. He fills my mind with doubt and knows my weaknesses. But my Lover is stronger than he. My Lover has sealed me with a kiss of everlasting LOVE! He is the reason I live and the very air I breathe. Awake my soul, for Love is coming to your rescue!

He comes dressed in white, with a sword in hand, ready to strike the enemy. His Love is strong enough to destroy an army of ten thousand, but gentle enough to heal a broken heart. Awake my soul, for Love has come to your rescue!

Though I can't hear you, see you, or feel you - I know that you are near. You are all around me. In the morning before I wake, you are the touch that grazes my skin. You are the wind that kisses my skin in the day. You are the sunset that paints the sky in shades of oranges, pinks, and purples. You are in the night sky orchestrating a symphony of twinkling stars, all to say: I love you...

"Now rest your heavy eyes, Beloved. For Love has always been and will always be here."
